Happy Pink Saturday!!! October 24, 2009

Welcome once again my sweet friends to another fun and happy Pink Saturday!! We owe a special thanks to Beverly from "How Sweet the Sound" for hosting us each week. I hope everyone is enjoying your autumn day. I love the vintage image of the girls on a swing. I think they must be sisters or very good friends. Family and friends are so important in our fast paced world. The rose is called Carefree Beauty or "Katy Road Pink". It blooms its heart out in my garden every year. You also see some pretty impatients from a planter on my back patio. You just can't help but smile when you look at them. The two vintage-like bottles sit on my mantel shelf. I purchased the one on the left and made the one on the right. I had a lot of fun making it. You see a rose covered hand mirror and a little soap dish with bunnies peeking up over the side (you can click on any picture to enlarge it for detail). This soap dish was a present from my good friend, Jean. The next two pictures are of some favorite hand painted porcelain pieces, both in my bedroom. That way I can wake up in the morning and have something rosy to look at and brighten the beginning of my day. Don't you love that last vintage image? I think it captures the fun and innocence of childhood so perfectly. It won't be too long before those little goblins will be standing on our doorstep asking for a treat! My grandchildren are coming tomorrow to spend the night with me. We are going to the "Pumpkin Patch" and Halloween carnival sponsored by the Methodist church here in our town. I am not sure who is more excited, me or them! Going to a Halloween carnival is one of my favorite memories from my growing up days.

To see all the other participants in Pink Saturday go and visit Beverly for a list: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
You will see a wide variety of everything pink. Have fun! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit! I hope your day is filled with laughter as you enjoy the season. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Proverbs 17:22

You always have such pretty things to share. I love the old bottles, I'm really into them now as well. Thrift stores are a great place to pick them up cheaply. Have lots of fun with the little ones!

Vicki, Your pinks are awesome and I have to say that the pitcher made me a little weak in the knees.
I am like you, I can't wait for the little goblins to come by. I look forward to seeing all the children in town at my door dressed in their darling costumes. It is the hi-light of my October.
Have a great time with your g-children. I know you will you lucky girl.

Hi Vicky,
I have been away for a long time.I am always excited about visiting your blog and seeing what you are up to. You made me remember a childhood event of the Pumpkin Festival where my sister was crowned "Miss Pumpkin Festival" and yes I do love your red chairs. I think every house should have a red room. Mine is the one I am in now! I made it through the year and this last week the most difficult of days and Jesus Christ still reigns in my heart more and more! Talk to you soon. Meg

All your photos are great for Pink Saturday, but I have to say I am in love with the pink floral designed hand mirror. Oh my gosh, what a treasure that is!! Happy sunday to you, and thanks so much for all the lovely comments on my recent posts. I am always thrilled when you stop by!!! thanks for sharing a lovely post with us all. Debby
