Did you ever go shopping with these?

As a young wife and mother on a very limited budget, I would faithfully save my S&H green stamps.  Then when I had them all stuck in their books (a very messy process usually), I would go to the S&H green stamp store to spend them.  I usually got a new shower curtain or some pretty bath rugs for my bath.  I always liked to make my home as pretty and inviting as possible.  Did you save stamps?

I have had some trouble downloading pictures to my journal today so I am not sure how this post will turn out.  Hopefully, you will be able to read it and the pictures will be visible.  I love beautiful handpainted china and this dish is one of my favorites.  I would love to be able to paint like this.

Today I will close with one of my favorite quotes:  "To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you."~Lewis B. Smedes

I have learned that life is too short to have negative thoughts and feelings.  I try to be thankful for each day and enjoy it to the fullest.

Love and blessings to you, my friends.

Oh yes! I remember theses as well, and yes, they were a messy process!
I think I bought a set of dishes at our store. I really thought the stamps were a great idea.
The little dish is very pretty! I love the floral art work on it. And your pillow is beautiful too.
Hugs,
Terri

I remember my mom giving me a wet sponge in a dish, the stamps and books and putting me to work at the kitchen table. I don't remember anything we bought with our stamps. Most likely something for the house.
In the '60s and '70s we had, not only S&H Green Stamps but also Blue Stamps from one local grocery store.
Your hand painted dish is very beautiful.

Oh, what fun! Yes, I did the same as Linda...kitchen table, wet sponge, etc. AND where we lived, there were also Eagle Stamps that a local dept store gave out, to redeem. I really loved those, because we took them to the customer service desk and could either get cash or a store credit! Wow...thanks for the fun memories, Vicki!

I DO remember the S&H green stamps, and I enjoyed pasting them in the book for my mother. I was a child, but I remember, also, going to the store with my parents and using them. I don't remember what they purchased, but it was always an adventure to fill the books and get to use them.

Yes, Vicki...to your previous post, God was following me this morning. There with a quick message in an extraordinary way, about patience.

May you be blessed today, dear friend,
