Bunny Hop

As a young girl, I was a member of the "Bluebirds" girls organization. I have a lot of happy memories from my days as a Bluebird and then a Campfire Girl. I was always so proud to get to wear my uniform to school on the days we had meetings. The Bluebirds had an annual father-daughter boxed supper each spring. I loved this banquet because I got to spend the entire evening with my daddy. My mom always packed us a delicious box of fried chicken, potato salad, and her famous tea cake cookies, and then off to the Women's Club my daddy and I would go! After we had eaten our meal, all of the girls would perform for their daddies. One time in particular, I remember we donned our bunny outfits and lined up to perform "The Bunny Hop" for our daddies. We had so much fun as we hopped to the music. Do you remember the dance? "Do the bunny hop, hop, hop, hop!" I was so proud to perform for my daddy!

I hope you are having a week full of happy memories and maybe even doing a little dance as spring will soon be here!

I loved the Camp Fire daddy/daughter events, too. I remember one year my mom made the most glorious vegetable tray for us to take to the banquet!

Hi Vicki~
Oh you bring back memories! In my hometown there used to be great activities for kids at the VFW.
When I think of childhood and Easter, I think of the song "On My Easter Bonnet."

Vicki, I love your pretty tea set in your sidebar~ so very lovely.
Going to go fix me a cup of chamomile and go read before bed.
Blessings always, Maria

I was a Brownie -- don't remember much about those days, but I do still have my Brownie pen. I remember the music from Easter time and the bunny hop, white dress for church and Easter bonnets. Faded memories! Wishing you a beautiful day. Blessings, Tammy

Dearest Vicki,

What sweet, precious and happy memories you shared with us! I remember the bunny hop, and I love the sweet image you shared! The boxed supper your momma fixed for you and your daddy sounds so good! I know your daddy loved your performance as much as you loved performing for him!

It is finally warming up here in Louisiana, and I am enjoying a bright sunny day with Hyacinths blooming in my garden, and Roses and Hydrangeas covered in new growth. It is wonderful to see signs of Spring. I look forward to seeing your Bunny Cottage garden in bloom! Have a blessed day dear friend! Thank you for your kindness!

With much love,
Paula

Oh Vic, you are bringing back such sweet memories for me! I was a Bluebird and CF girl, too. Years later, I was a Sparks, Bluebird and CF leader for my daughter. Daddy/Daughter banquets were always so special and fun!!

LOve your new 'puter and all it can do. I just got my new Windows 7 one last month!! They are awesome! I love LOVE your new banners. Did you "tint" the images or just find them already colored that way?

Big TX Hugs,
Stephanie

We used to have fried chicken and potato salad for all of our picnics, too. Also deviled eggs, pimiento cheese-stuffed celery sticks, and cake for dessert.

Fast food joints aren't nearly as good--or as much fun--but they certainly get points for EASY, don't they!

The bunny hop girl picture is SO cute!
