I may be somewhat of a "Pollyanna" who likes to look at life through rose-colored glasses, but I've always liked for my heroes to be strong, righting the world of all wrongs, getting the girl in the end, and living happily ever after.
"I did pretty good for a guy who never finished high school and used to yodel at square dances."~ Roy Rogers
Happy trails, to you my sweet friends, until we meet again!

Aww, I love this! I have always had a crush on John Wayne. My dad is a huge fan, so I grew up watching him and all his movies. I guess that must be why I like manly men so much, lol!!
Hugs,
Amy
Hello Vicki... I'm with you, I love cowboys, and movies where the good guys always win, and the guy always gets the girl! I think I told you my daddy bowled on a team with Roy Rogers in Roswell, New Mexico when he was known as Leonard Sly before he became Roy Rogers... I was so proud that he was my daddy's friend... I never missed one of his old tv shows with Dale Evans! Too bad there aren't heroes like these today! John Wayne was such a fabulous man... they just don't make them like that anymore! True Grit is one of my all time favorites! xoxo Julie Marie
He was my favorite too. Once while we were at a wax museum there was information there about John Wayne...He had a face lift! I was a bit disappointed...but then they were Hollywood actors! Come say hi :D
My heroes, too.
I loved.
I love cowboys also, sugar. I remember watching the westerns in the movie theater even before we had television. I just loved and still do the old westerns...
xoxo,
Connie
My hubby just loves vintage cowboy shows from his childhood......Me???? Not so much......I always loved "Sky King" cause' my late Uncle Le was a pilot too!!
Love,

Cowboys remind me of my Dad because he was always watching "Cowboy" movies and Bonanza. Before he passed, my son would go over and watch re-runs with Dad and laugh because he knew all the "lines" by heart. Recently, he watched Bonanza with my Mom just so they could reminisce about Dad! :) Cowboys bring fond memories!
Happy Trails to you too my friend. My hero is a cowboy too... my husband. :0) My daddy is a cowboy too, so I guess ALL my heroes are cowboys too.
I am in awe of this post! What a terrific tribute to the grand days of cowboys and treuth and justice for all! Love it!
Come join the postcard exchange! I'd love to have you join!
Hugs and Happy week! Anne
I've been waiting for those stamps to come out so I can buy them. I totally agree with you about cowboys being heroes and observing a code. I read a book about Tom Mix, he was a real cowboy, and my childhood favorite was Hopalong Cassidy and his white horse, Topper.
Great post.
Next time I'm at the post office, it's cowboy stamps for me!
Blessings and Happy Trails!
Hi Vicki!
Your post makes me smile :o)
Our former village sheriff is 84 yrs old and still travels to Florida to participate in the "Florida Cowboys." He's something else... Still rides his horse around town...
I'd love to be a cowgirl too!
*Fun Post, Vicki*
Have a sweet week! ~Maria

I remember watching quite a few cowboy films and TV programmes (High chaparal)as a child but for me it was the Indiana Jones character who was my kind of hero. ;-)
Have a great week
Warm wishes

When we would visit my Mammaw in Mississippi for holidays or weekends, I would watch reruns of Roy Rogers on Sunday morning while everyone else would walk down the street to church. :) All your pinks in previous posts are so pretty. The pocket heart and everything you received from Anne so very pretty. I can't imagine displaying lovely china plates in the garden. Around here, they would be grimy in a hurry. I miss the lushness of a beautiful garden. Have a great week. Tammy
You have brought back some good memories. I remember waking up on Saturday mornings to watch Roy Rogers and Sky King. My Mothers favorite was Gunsmoke and I adored John Wayne.

Hi sweet Vicki, I love what you said, and feel the same way!! Love the quote by Roy Rogers, he is our favorite, then Gene Autry! Happy trails to you sweet friend! :)

You really brought back the memories with this post. I can remember watching them when tv's first came out. We would go to town with my parents, only visit my brother's house so we could watch the western's. We have John Wayne movies in our collection, because he was one of my favorites. I can remember them all like it was yesterday. Thank you for sharing my friend. Have a wonderful day. Your Missouri Friend.

Actually I live in Alaska now via the Army. I hail from Midland, Texas most recently but also lived in Houston, San Angelo, and Dallas for a spell. I was born in San Antonio and have lived all over the US since my dad was in the oil industry. The Army may even take me to Germany or Japan! Thank you so much for stopping by one of my blogs! That one doesn't get much traffic but I love being a housewife so it's a very special one to me.
John Wayne is one of my favorites, as far as cowboys go!!! deb
