are a friendly bunch. We greet friend and stranger alike with a smile.

We say things like "howdy" and "ya'll come see us". And, of course, we are always "fixin" to do something!

We love to take pictures of our children in bluebonnets, and biscuits with cream gravy are a morning staple.

We are a proud bunch, but you have to remember, we were our own country at one time.

So, dear friends, if you ever get a chance to come out Texas way, we'll be waiting for you with a smile and a big Texas hug! Sending love to you from me, a gal deep in the heart of Texas.
*Sweet girl in the bluebonnets is my oldest granddaughter, Grace.

Grace is beautiful & I love her surrounded with those gorgeous blue bonnets. My brother lives in TX & we enjoy every visit to this welcoming friendly state.
I also love your 'gentle reminder...'

Love the boots and the bluebonnets, Vicki!
Oh I love me ponies, bluebonnets and those boots, and have two dear friends and co-authors with me of two books who live on Texas ranches. So Hurray for Texans!
Sounds wonderful. Have a friend who just moved to Texas and she loves it. I've never been , but maybe someday. Lovely blog, glad to have found you...

Oh you can bet if I ever come to Texas I will come calling at your house dear Vicki! Grace is a darling girl!!!!!
sending hugs...
A sweet name for a sweet child...she looks like Grace, indeed.
Oh, I like your post very much, Vicki! Though born and raised in NJ, I've lived most of my life in Texas. I do miss the seasons of the northeast, and of course my memories are filled with wonderful sweetness of days gone by there, but I do like Texas very much. And we really are "The Friendly" state!!
Wishing you a friendly day,
Marianne xo
Hi Vicki,
What a lovely photo of Grace. She looks so happy and has a beautiful smile..I love all the photo's. One day I will visit Texas as my S-I-L lives there and is always urging us to come on down! But, I don't care for flying..I panic so much it makes me sick..
Thanks for your sweet words Vicky...
Have a wonderful weekend.
Ciao,
Mary
Great post! While it's true that we don't experience seasons this far south, and down here summers are l-o-n-g and wickedly hot and humid... still I can't imagine living anywhere else. And Texas still feels like it's own country. :p
