Roses are red, my love. . .

Violets are blue. . .

Sugar is sweet, my love,

but not as sweet as you. . .

If you grew up in the 50's and 60's like I did, I am sure you remember the words of this song

sung by Bobby Vinton. Isn't it amazing how a song can take us back in time to the days of our youth?

Thank you, dear friends, for stopping by today for a visit. I am sharing some of my favorite tea things including a favorite violet covered teapot, tray, creamer and sugar, given to me by my sweet sister, Myra, as a Christmas present several years ago. Next to it is a picture of my grandparents on their wedding day. I never met them personally. They went to heaven before I had the opportunity to know them. However, I do know them in my heart of hearts and look forward to seeing them again one day. I feel their presence and the presence of all of my loved ones each and every day. I am participating in the Tuesday Tea Parties so please stop by and see all of the lovely tea things being shared. These sweet ladies are our hostesses each week: Sandi @ http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com/ Martha @ http://marthasfavorites.com/ and Terri @ http://artfulaffirmations.blogspot.com/ Happy first day of November to you and God bless you all!

Absolutely I remember Bobby V and that song!

And what lovely tea things, Vicki, and that cake is SO pretty! Are those actually some adorable hat boxes??? And I love the picture of your grandparents. I didn't know mine, either, except for my dear maternal grandmother and her second husband (my grandfather died before I was born), but I love mine, too, and look forward to meeting them in Heaven one day.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hello sweet friend! I do indeed remember this song! He was so cute too! Love all of your beautiful tea things. That tea set is gorgeous! what a nice gift. Always a treat to visit with you. I love your header picture. I have seen that before. So befitting for fall too. Do you recall the artist? I also love the picture in your sidebar of the wedding couple. I have a thing for vintage wedding pictures. I found a similar one on the web, and tried to copy it to put under a cloche, but it didn't come out that great. Have a great week.
