Vintage Alphabet Party and Tea Things on Tuesday. . .

Hello, and thank you for coming by for a visit at Bunny Cottage. Today, I am participating in two "parties", Vintage Alphabet, and Tea Things on Tuesday. For the Vintage Alphabet party on Etsy Cottage Style, our letters this month are "I", "J" and "K". For "I", I chose to show vintage images of my great grandparents, John Dawson Smith, and Roena Josephine White Smith. I know very little about my great grandparents, they were my daddy's grandparents, and you can imagine my joy when I found these pictures of them. I would say it was quite by accident, but I believe God led me to them. I was browsing through some geneaology places on my computer, and lo and behold, I found these wonderful pictures and now know the cemetery in which they are buried. I also know their birthdates and dates of their death. I see my great grandmother loved jewelry as I do, too. For "J", I chose the jewelry that she is wearing. I have always been drawn to antique jewelry or at least jewelry that looks antique. I feel a bond with these two people because we are a part of each other. I celebrate the love they shared for each other. For "K", I chose the kaleidoscope of colors in my vintage style garden. All the flowers I grow are of the antique or old garden variety, and I love the old fashioned names: Rose of Sharon, Pinks, Flags, Bachelor Buttons and so on. For the Tea Party, I am showing a favorite tea cup and creamer and sugar. I hope you have enjoyed our little time together, sweet friends. Wishing you a wonderful week and much happiness and joy~Please visit Etsy Cottage Style for a list of those participants at http://etsycottagestyle.blogspot.com/ Please visit Martha at http://marthasfavorites.com/ and Sandi at http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com/ and Katherine at http://ladykatherineteaparlor.blogspot.com/ for the tea party participants.

Hi Vicki! Glad you got to come for the Vintage Alphabet Party. Love your vintage images. It's so noce when you can see the past. I luckily had my Dad's Grandfather around til I was 16 and my Mom's Garndmmother here til I was 11. so the past was very alive for me. Love the Kalidescope garden, but you didn't realize you had a beautiful liitle 'K'nick-knack figurine of a boy and girl in the one tea cup shot.

Hi Vicky, Love your teacup! How fun to have found photos of your great grandparents and their info!! Did you know there is a site called findagrave.com where you can type in a cemetary name and there are photos on file for lots of the headstones? I have found some of my relatives, whom I can't travel to see.

Hi Vickie, Oh I love your most creative post. How special that you found the pics of your great grandparents. What a treasure.

Your garden flowers are gorgeous. I planted the same Coneflower this year and it is doing well. It is the same color as yours too.

Your teacup is beautiful. I love the pretty and soft design.
So enjoyed my visit to your lovely blog and now a happy follower too. See you Friday at Stephanies.
Blessings, Celestina Marie

I love your beautiful tea things -- especially the little creamer and sugar bowl! I am always looking for pretty things with beautiful roses to sell in my antique booth. They are hard to find!

Isn't it fun to learn about relatives of long ago? I am currently helping my nephew find family members who may have served in the Civil War. He is doing an internship with the National Park Service at Fredericksburg, VA and is very interested in the Civil War.

Thank you for sharing! Your blog is beautiful!

I LOVE old family pictures. I can just imagine your excitement at finding these never before seen photos! I like to look at old pictures and see if I can see myself in my ancestors. I never can in the men, but I have a great grandmother and a great great great grandmother I can and I find that fascinating!

Family photos are my weakness (and genealogy) and my Mom was kind enough to give me ALL of the heirlooms because I scrapbook and document. Your finds are priceless and aren't we blessed to find information on the internet about our past. I love your china also - it is just gorgeous! Happy Thursday to you!

Hi Vicki!
Oh isn't it just grand to find old photos that have been "lost" but are now "found."

I must ask... is that a real treat on the plate in your tea party photo?
if so, WOW!
how amazing it looks!

Your gardens must be flourishing now... I love all the colors ❀ enjoy your beautiful summer days, Vicki!
