It is good to be back home. . .

Hello, dear friends, I have been on a trip to visit my youngest son, Aaron, and his family in Roswell, NM. Aaron just recently graduated with his law degree from the University of Texas and was hired by a law firm in Roswell. My oldest son, Jeremy, and his children and I went to visit them this past weekend. We had so much fun, and I will tell more about our trip soon. My garden survived the few days that I was away, and it is always good to sleep in my own bed once again. The first picture is the dresser in my bedroom filled with some of my favorite things. The next three pictures are purple coneflowers, daylilies and a hardy hibiscus bloom in my cottage garden. I purchased the three sweet plates from the antique mall in Roswell. They are marked Haviland, France, and I love the combination of tiny pink roses with a blue border. I purchased the little pretty basket from Rhea of "Sweet and Shabby Roses". I purchased the wonderful embellished bottle from Lynn of "Teacup Stitches". Both of these ladies are sweet, kind and super talented. The next picture is a perennial morning glory vine that grows in a corner of my garden. And of course, I always love to share a vintage image in closing. I am getting around to visiting each and every one of you kind friends to catch up on all the news since I have been gone. I have missed you and our visits. I hope you are having a beautiful week!

What lovely things, Vicki! I'm so happy you had a good visit with your son and that he has a job he's starting. That's great news! :-) Mr. Magpie is a lawyer, and I can remember his first job out of law school (he's still with that same firm) and going on that interview with him. They interviewed the wives in those days, too.

Glad you're back safe and sound...

XO,

Sheila

Hi Vicki,
I am glad you were able to visit with family! We have been visiting with family over the last week.

Your garden survived well it seems. As we drove into Texas I was thinking of you. We will be here in Temple until about 5 o'clock tomorrow morning when we will take off for Oklahoma again. My oldest son and his family live here.

You found some pretty things recently. Love those plates! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Vicki,
There is something about sleeping in your own bed! We were made so comfortable while we were on our winter journey, but coming home and crawling under our own covers was so sweet!

Your plates are just lovely...I have always loved sweet blues with pink...they do so much for each other!

Your garden is beautiful!

I am glad to see that your beautiful garden held it's own while you were gone Vicki. If you're like me, it's hard to leave the garden for fear that you'll miss something wonderful. I am so glad to hear that you had a good visit with family. That is wonderful news about your son Aaron, and his accomplishments!!!
I can hardly believe that you have coneflowers blooming already, and daylillies! My lilacs are just blooming now and the roses are still a few weeks away. Isn't it interesting to see how the different parts of the country make gardening so diverse?
I love those beautiful plates. They are so sweet and dainty, just like I love!
Big hugs from here my dear friend.
