Everything is coming up roses!! Happy Pink Saturday, dear friends!! January 2, 2010

I must admit, I go through garden withdrawal every winter. My dad was a farmer, and I must have inherited that "farming blood" from him because I can hardly wait until spring when I can have my hands in the dirt and gardening once again. So, what is a girl to do. Decorate with roses everywhere, of course!! My niece gave me some money for Christmas and so I had no problem spending it (never do!). I bought the rosy teapot you see up above. I think it goes perfectly with some other rosy items I have purchased over the past few months: creamer and sugar, sugar shaker, cup and saucer, and salt and peppers. I love them all!! They make me so happy. I have heard that roses and the shabby chic style are on the way out. I hope not, or else I will be hopelessly out of style. Anyway, I just decorate with things I love regardless.

I am participating in Pink Saturday this week and would love to have you go and visit Miss Beverly who hosts us each week. Thank you for your faithfulness in doing this fun time each Saturday, Beverly. You can find Beverly and all of our participants by going here: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/

I am so glad I have been able to meet all of you this past year. I had no idea how many friends I would make here at Bunny Cottage. You all have been an inspiration to me, and I thank you for your kind friendship! Much love and many blessings to you!!

Oh no! Roses and Shabby Chic will never go out of style, we all love it too much. Let the designers say what they will, but let's prove em wrong!

I love your Pink Saturday post.

I wanted to stop by and see your new post. It is very gloomy outside and rained all day. So I painted pink roses, birdie, on a pale blue background to welcome the new year. So I know what you mean about garden withdrawal. It will be spring before you know it :)

No, say it isn't so!! I'm with you and Sissie, I'll just be out of style then because I have loved vintage shabby chic and roses since I was a little girl and my grandmother's home was bathed in them. ;) Beautiful china, love love love it. Happy PS!

So enjoyed your lovely pictures of your rose dishes!! The cup and saucer especially is just beautiful!

I am so wanting to get out and start digging in the dirt which I could be doing if I was in New Mexico. This time of year I am out trimming the rose bushes and getting the beds ready for planting. Not in Colorado though! I am eagerly expecting the catalogs to arrive soon in my mail box tempting me with new treasure to plant!

Oh Vicki, your roses are so beautiful! And who says roses and shabby chic are on the way out... I never follow trends of what "others" say is in... I went to buy a birdhouse one day and the woman told me "birdhouses aren't in anymore"... gee, I wonder if anyone told the birds that???... PLEASE keep your beautiful roses~shabby chic style... I am staying with the things I love and not following what is supposedly "in"... Your style is YOU, just beautiful! Love to you... xoxo Julie Marie

Oh my goodness Vicki, these pieces are so beautiful! I love the roses so much. I think they all match so beautifully. Even if the shabby chic is going out, I think we can still enjoy being shabby for years to come ;-)

Hi Vicki!
I'm echoing back your sentiments about meeting such nice people 'out here.' How wonderful it's been!

I agree with you about decorating with the things you love, regardless of the current 'style.'
How can roses go out of style?
;o)
Hope your New Year's Day was sweet ~

What happened to my comment!!??? I was saying that I love, love your new tea cups and everything... who wants to garden while there`s so much to do thinking where to display the collection??? and then enjoying it once and again, and again... with lights on, lights off, candles, maybe some other place, or here perhaps....
I would love to have a niece like yours!!!!
Much happiness to you my dear Vicki all year long!!!

Hi Vicki,
It's me again... Yes, the baby does represent Jesus. If I remember correctly, tradition is that who ever finds Him in their slice of bread gets to dress a baby Jesus statue in a beautiful white gown and present Him to their church on the 2nd of February :-) I'm not sure if there is more to it...this is all I know. Happy Three Kings Day my friend. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
♥Ana
