I was feeling a little bit "crafty"!!!

I had so much fun decorating my first bottle a couple of weeks ago, I decided to do a few more. I bought the bottles at Michaels (I think) for only $1 each. I can't remember exactly where I got the rabbit, bird, flower and heart stickers (either at Michaels or JoAnn's fabrics). They are Martha Stewart and were on sale. The ric rac, ribbons, and buttons I got at JoAnn's. I enjoyed being creative. I hope you enjoy them, too. I am going to keep the bunny rabbit one for myself. I am giving the bird one to my sister, Myra, and the flower one to my niece, Robin. We always go for a little "happy hour" on Friday afternoons when Robin is finished with work. I am going to surprise them with their bottle presents. Hope you have had a good week so far. The weekend is in sight!! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit today. It always makes me smile when you do.

Dry spells . . .

My roses are starting to put on a new flush. After sixty or more days of 100 degrees weather with virtually no rain, we have finally received some rainfall and cooler weather. The flowers love this, and so do I. During this past summer, I must admit I questioned and thought, "Why doesn't God send some rain? We so desperately need it?" And then, in His good time, God did send the blessing of rain and now it seems my whole garden is singing songs of praise. The same can be true for our own lives. Sometimes we ourselves go through "dry spells" and then God mercifully sends his showers of blessings at just the time when we need to be lifted up the most. It might be through a kind note from a friend, a grandchild saying "I love you!" or a helping hand from a total stranger. Then, once again, we are reminded that God has been there all along, even through the "dry spells". It is my wish for you that you will feel His presence today and be lifted up!! Have a blessed day, and as always, thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I cherish each of you and value your kind friendship.

Nice does matter. . .

A few weeks ago, I took two of my grandchildren to a children's museum in a nearby city. This was a wonderful museum with many interesting "hands on" activities for the children. Both of my grandchildren loved the bubble room the best. This was an area where they could perform many experiments with water and bubbles. My four year old grandson, Luke, was waiting patiently in line to do one of the experiences when a young girl stepped in front of him in line. She stepped up onto the step to perform the experience, and I watched to see what he would do. He just quietly walked over and stood beside me and then looked at me with his big blue eyes and said, "That was so frustrating!" I couldn't help but smile. I reassured him that I would stand with him in line and that when the little girl was finished, he would be next. My grandson was wise beyond his years and had already learned a great life lesson: Yes, life can be very frustrating from time to time, but good manners are always in style. I hope that I can learn from his example and always remember that "Nice really does matter".

May your day be filled with kindness and the love of family and friends and all the things you cherish and love. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Happy Pink Saturday!!! September 26

Happy Pink Saturday, dear friends. Thank you so much for stopping by. A special thank you to Beverly from "How Sweet the Sound" for graciously hosting our event each week. In my first picture, you see a favorite handpainted tea pot or coffee pot with creamer and sugar. These sit on a baker's rack in my kitchen area. The second picture is a favorite vintage looking sign that sits in a bay window area in my sunroom. The third picture is a handpainted roses china chocolate pot that I have on my mantle in my living room. The fourth picture shows some faux cupcakes displayed in my china cabinet. They look good enough to eat, don't they? The fifth picture is the sweet fairy rose that grows in my cottage garden. The sixth picture is lovely oxalis that also grows in my garden. The last picture is of a vintage angel with sweet pink cheeks. These kinds of vintage images I never tire at looking on them. I hope you have enjoyed your visit today, and I invite you to visit Beverly and all the other participants. You can find them here:

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Sending happy wishes your way. Have a lovely weekend.

Adornments. . .

Hello, sweet friends, thank you so much for stopping by Bunny Cottage. It is a rainy, cool day here in Central Texas. I was out early to take pictures of "adornments" in my cottage garden. I hope you enjoy looking at them. I hope you are having a wonderful day! Sending garden blessings your way!

There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~Mirabel Osler
