His eye is on the sparrow . . .

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
  • Refrain:
    I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
    For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. (by Civilla D. Martin)

Have a wonderful week ahead and always keep in mind that He is watching over you! Vicki

And another one...

"Consider the Lilies they don't toil or spin...
And there's not a king with more splendid than them!

Consider the sparrows they don't plant or sow...
But their fed by the Master who watches them grow!..."

Lovely!

Hi Vicki,
Just stopping by to say hello. Where did you get this great old sparrow picture? One of our themes this weekend for VBS is that scripture and I would love this postcard picture.
I was thinking about your retirement from teaching. I taught third and fourth grade for awhile and I so loved the beginning of school everything fresh and exciting, doing the bulletin boards ,all the new little one to meet, just the smell of the first day of school was wonderful. I still get a little nostalgic when I see that first school bus but the Lord has other places for me to teach and certainly other things for me to learn. I hope your are enjoying this time of your life as I know how hard you worked to get here. xoxoxo Meg
