Going to the Chapel of Love. . .

I fell in love with this little 'kitty bride' many years ago. As you can see, she is dressed all in pink with her beautiful flower veil and beautiful bouquet. If you look to her left, you can see her bridesmaids in yellow and blue. To her right is her dreamy wedding cake confection. I am sure she is getting ready to head to the Chapel of Love and marry her prince charming, Tom.

This has been a strange day for me. All of the teachers in our town are reporting back to their schools today to get ready for the upcoming school year. Their week will consist of meetings, Meet the Teacher night, and of course, team planning to get ready for the new school year. After 33 years, I won't be in attendance. I am not regretting my retirement at all. I know it was time for me to begin a new chapter in my life. After all, now that I am retired I can still be in my pj's in the afternoon and writing my blog!!!
Wishing for all of you many blessings and a great week ahead. Vicki

What adorable kitties! (of course I never met a kitty that wasn't!) I am retired not quite two years now and wonder how I ever found time to work! It is soo nice to sit and savor my morning coffee and browse though a magazine without looking at the clock to see if it is time to go to work... it sounds like you have lots of wonderful hobbies and family that you will have so much more time to enjoy... I am happy for you!

Darling kittens!

Re: your strange feelings today...this has happened to me. Though I wouldn't return to full time work if they gave me an offer I could almost not refuse I still have dreams that I'm working in my office at the university with my co-workers. I wake up feeling a bit sad. BUT THEN I remember I don't have to hurry like crazy to get in the car, drive, run, hurry, hurry, hurry! I've now been retired since 2003 and love my freedom. (I do teach a couple of classes online, but that's just perfect for the "no-hurry" life!)

Enjoy your new non-schedule!!!

Happy Retirement. I've been able to get up when I want to and do pretty much what I want to do for five years now. I only worked about 10 years before I retired and that as a church secretary where my hubby was my boss and I loved it. But, it took me quite a while to really enjoy staying at home. I missed going down to the office every day. Hopefully you will acclimate sooner. LOL
Enjoy life.

Vicki, I think that it would feel very strange to you. WOW! 33 years, that is truly amazing.
I bet you saved a lot this year by not having to buy school clothes though. PJ's are not as expensive and a heck of a lot more comfortable.
The kitty really does make a beautiful bride.
Thank you so much for the wonderful message you left for me today. I love it when you stop by for a visit in your jammies.
Hugs,
June
