I read so many books I can't recall most, but I can recall all the books I read when I was a young girl..sorry the Pink Dress was not one of them, and I can see why it would sell for such a high cost today..I will have to keep my eyes opened at all the paper show's I attend..you never know!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16607497076371172591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101325227805918309.post-90621232051081312732013-03-14T01:30:13.550-07:002013-03-14T01:30:13.550-07:00I loved books and, by the age of 10, had a ticket ...I loved books and, by the age of 10, had a ticket for the adult library as we lived next door. I had regularly read two books a day from the children's department, so the staff thought I should move on. Some books were not allowed as I was too young for the content and I was watched over by a sensible and helpful librarian.

I never lost my love of certain childhood favourites though and would still borrow them regularly. Milly-Molly-Mandy,The little Grey Rabbit books, Pippi Longstocking, Pookie, Little House in the Big Woods, The Family From One End Street, Bobby Brewster, Just William, The Chalet School series
are some that remain on my list. I could list a hundred and many are British favourites so may mean nothing to many other people.

I so wanted a sister. Perhaps that's why I liked to read about other girls, but I also wanted the more adventurous life that boys seemed to have all those years ago, hence the naughty but loveable William Brown in Just William.

I'd still love a sister and really feel I missed out being the only girl amongst male siblings and male cousins.Well, my mum is 90 now, so I doubt she'll be giving me that much wanted baby sister!
Jennijenannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00321001863688006661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101325227805918309.post-1583287455119506512013-03-13T18:56:06.975-07:002013-03-13T18:56:06.975-07:00I loved Pippi. Then there were some little Golden Books that I still have and love. I also enjoyed Winnie the Pooh stories and Uncle Wiggly.

Sending you love my friend. I've never read "The Pink Dress", but it sounds very popular. I wasn't much of a reader until my 30s, but I do remember the only Nancy Drew I had about 'the Golden Locket'.

Thank you for sharing, and good to see you're well and happy.

Blessings to you, dear one,
Marianne xoxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
